On this page, we explain what the best statistics are for HolyPaladins in World of Warcraft MoP 5.4, how the class benefits fromeach of them, andwhat your reforging strategy should be. We also detail what the various capsare (if any) and why they should be attained.

The statistics priority is important as itinfluences reforging strategies as well as itemisation choices(gear, enchants, and gems).

2.1. Statistics Explanations

Intellect is your primary stat. You should look for this stat in allof your upgrades. It provides you with Spell Power, which increases the powerof your heals, and increases your critical strike chance.

Spirit is the healer statistic, and is an excellent source ofmana regeneration. You should always aim to have items with Spirit, whether itis found innately on the item or it is reforged.

Mastery Rating and Haste Rating are both very good statistics,but at the moment we feel that Mastery Rating is the best choice.

Mastery Rating causes your heals to place absorption effects on the targets.This is very beneficial, since it boosts your healing without costing you anyadditional mana. This is especially good early on in the expansion, when youwill have mana problems due to the relatively low amounts of Spirit that youhave. Mastery Rating will, therefore, provide you with excellent healingthroughput, and there are very few situations where it is not valuable.

Haste Rating lowers the cast time of your heals, which is of particularvalue for Divine Light Icon Divine Light and Holy Radiance Icon Holy Radiance, and it lowers your globalcooldown. Thanks to Sanctity of Battle Icon Sanctity of Battle, it also reduces the cooldown ofyour Holy Shock Icon Holy Shock. The benefits of Haste Rating go beyond this, though. Itallows you to respond faster to damage taken, allowing your heals to land ontheir targets sooner (which can, in many situations, make all the difference).Additionally, if you are able to sustain the mana consumption generated inthis way, Haste Rating will provide you with greater burst healing than MasteryRating.

Even though Critical Strike Rating does provide various benefits, itis inferior to the other statistics due to its inherent randomness andunreliability.

2.2. Soft Haste Caps

As a Holy Paladin, you have three important soft haste caps:

  • at 25.03% haste, you get a third additional tick ofEternal Flame Icon Eternal Flame;
  • at 30% haste, you get a second additional tick of Sacred Shield Icon Sacred Shield;
  • at 34.98% haste, you get a fourth additional tick ofEternal Flame Icon Eternal Flame.
