The Brewmaster is the tanking specialisation of Monks, the mostrecently-added class in World of Warcraft.

Brewmasters rely mostly on avoiding damage, through dodging and parryingattacks. Brewmasters also have an additional way of dealing with incomingdamage, a unique ability called Stagger, which causes part of thedamage to be done to the Monk instantly, while the rest is done over thecourse of 10 seconds (with the possibility for the Monk to remove all of thenon-instant damage).

Mainly for these reasons, Brewmasters benefit from a steady and relativelyeasily-healed damage intake. They make excellent tanks in PvE and will alwaysbe a valuable asset to your raid.

Unlike any other tanking class, Brewmaster Monks lack a powerful defensivecooldown that reduces all damage taken, but they make up for this through theirmany versatile defensive abilities.
