The statistics priority is important as itinfluences reforging strategies as well as itemisation choices(gear, enchants, and gems).

The statistic priority as a Discipline Priest is very much subject topersonal preference. Your final choice will depend greatly on your spell usage, healing style, and encounter requirements, and we encourage you to experimentuntil you find what works best for you.

We currently propose the following statistic priority.

1. Intellect;
2. Critical Strike Rating;
3. Mastery Rating;
4. Spirit;
5. Haste Rating. 

2. Getting a Better Understanding↑top

Intellect is your primary stat. You should look for this stat in allof your upgrades. It provides you with Spell Power, which increases the powerof your heals, and increases your critical strike chance.

Spirit is the healer statistic. It increases your mana regeneration.You will, for the most part, prefer gear pieces with Spirit, although if theother secondary statistic on the item is undesirable to you, it may be worthusing an item without Spirit.

How much Spirit you should have is up to you and your playstyle. If youare running out of mana often, even while properly using your mana regenerationcooldowns, you should aim for more Spirit. Keep in mind that this advice doesnot take into account your spell usage, which can be the cause for your manaproblems.

If you are comfortable with your level of mana regeneration, you canstart reforging out of Spirit or avoiding gear with Spirit, and opt formore throughput.

Mastery Rating, thanks to Mastery: Shield Discipline, increasesthe potency of your damage absorption effects, as well as increasing yourhealing done.

Critical Strike Rating provides you with the highest overall healingoutput, but may prove unreliable in individual situations. Even so, it is verygood when coupled with Atonement healing.

Haste Rating is most useful for AoE raid healing. It can beuseful for single target healing (either in the case of tank healing or raidhealing), depending on the situation. Haste generally has a low priority forDiscipline Priests because so many Discipline Priest spells are instant castand therefore do not really benefit from it.
