4. Quests↑top
There are 2 quests that can be completed within the instance. They aregiven by Priestess Summerpetal and Master Windstrong insidethe temple, at the entrance. These quests have no known prerequisites.
The first quest is Restoring Jade's Purity. It requires you todefeat the first three encounters of the dungeon.
The second quest is Deep Doubts, Deep Wisdom. It requires you todefeat the final and fourth boss of the dungeon.
The quests reward you with item level 400 gear(see loot section above).
5. Wise Mari↑top
To reach Wise Mari, take left as soon as you enter the dungeon.Normally, you will have already been in the temple while doing theJade Forest quest lines, so the layout of the temple will not beforeign to you.
On your way to the Fountain of the Everseeing, where Wise Mari is located, you will have to fight several Corrupt Living Waters, which split into3 Corrupt Droplets and leave a puddle of
Sha Residue upon dying(which can be very deadly if you stand in it). You will also find a few groupsof lone Corrupt Droplets.
5.1. The Fight
After reaching the Fountain of the Everseeing, you will be able to engageWise Mari by approaching him. He will stand in the middle for the entirefight and does not need to be tanked. The fight itself is split in two phases, both of which are very easy to deal with.
During Phase One, Wise Mari is invulnerable and will summon4 Corrupt Living Waters, one after the other. They have the same mechanicsas the Corrupt Living Waters that you have fought to reach the boss andthey should be tanked towards the back of the room, away from water pools. The reason why you want to be at the back of the room is because standingin water pools or close to them will cause your group to take damagefrom
Hydrolance, which Mari often casts to makethe water pools erupt, and
Corrupted Waters, which causes players totake damage when they stand in water.
From our experience, Wise Mari will start summoning a new Corrupt Living Water (aprocess that takes a few seconds) as soon as you kill the one you were fightingagainst. This means that you need to take care of the 3 Corrupt Dropletsrapidly, before the new Corrupt Living Water reaches you.
During Phase Two, Wise Mari is no longer invulnerable and will onlyrotate on himself, while spouting water in front of him (
Wash Away). All you need to do is turn around him clockwise to avoid thewater jet, while making sure that you do not step in the water pools, which would damage you (
Corrupted Waters). Keep attacking him whilemoving until you defeat him.
All the damage in the encounter, with the exception of the melee damage doneby the Corrupt Living Waters on the tank is easily avoidable.
5.2. Achievement: Hydrophobia
To complete the
Hydrophobia achievement, you need to finishthe fight without being hit by any of the Water abilities in Heroicdifficulty:
Corrupted Waters,
Hydrolance, and
Wash Away.
6. Lorewalker Stonestep↑top
After defeating Wise Mari, you need to go to the other end of the temple,to the Scrollkeeper's Sanctum, to assist Lorewalker Stonestep, whoselibrary has been overrun by Sha-corrupted creatures.
On your way to the library, you will find several groups of Sha-corruptedenemies, none of which is difficult.
When you reach Lorewalker Stonestep, you need to defeat theCorrupted Scroll standing before him. This will lead you to oneof two possible encounters: The Trial of the Yaungol orThe Champion of the Five Suns.
6.1. The Trial of the Yaungol
During this fight, you will be faced two entities: Strife andPeril. Attacking an entity will progressively stack
Intensity on it, which increases the damage itdeals. At 10 stacks, the entity gains
Ultimate Power, becoming immuneto damage for 15 seconds. Not attacking an entity will cause the stacksof Intensity to drop and will stack
Dissipation on it, which decreasesthe damage it deals (up to 10 stacks).
The simplest way to complete the encounter is to attack an entity untilit gains
Ultimate Power, then switch to the other one. By the timeone entity gains
Ultimate Power, the other will have lost the buffand probably stacked
Dissipation a few times.
Because
Intensity causes an entity to dealproximity damage, you need to make sure that non-melee players stay away fromthe entities.
If
Ultimate Power proves too difficult to handle, you can attack oneentity until a maximum of 9 stacks of
Intensitybefore switching to the other one. However, it might be difficult to getmembers of a group from the LFG tool to change target at the right moment.
6.2. The Champion of the Five Suns
This fight is split in two phases.
During Phase One, you are faced with 5 suns, 4 of which you can attackand destroy. They cast
Sunfire Rays at random players. When you destroya sun, it creates a Haunting Sha, which needs to be tanked, as it casts
Haunting Gaze at its current target.
Here, most LFG groups will rapidly kill the suns first and then handle theHaunting Shas that spawn. However, the strategy that yields the lowest groupdamage is to kill the suns one by one, each time killing the Haunting Sha thatspawns before moving on to another sun.
During Phase Two, you will face Zao Sunseeker, who was assisting youin Phase One, and who has by now been corrupted by the Sha. He willfrenetically cast
Hellfire Arrows at random group members and you simply needto burn him down.
7. Liu Flameheart↑top
In the next room, you will find Liu Flameheart who has been corruptedby the Sha and needs to be defeated. The fight is divided in 3 phases.
During Phase One, Liu will cast three abilities:
Serpent Strike, which deals damage to the tank, instantly andover time (it may be possible to dispel the DoT component);
Serpent Kick, which immediately follows a Serpent Strike and for whichmelee should move 8 yards away from the boss;
Serpent Wave, which creates 3 waves of fire moving out of Liu andthat players need to avoid.
When Liu has 70% health remaining, Phase Two begins. It is essentiallythe same fight as in Phase One, just that each of her abilities has beenempowered with an additional effect and has a slightly different name:
Phase One and Two can be confusing at first, and healers will probably haveto heal a lot of damage caused by players not properly dealing with the variousmechanics.
When Liu has 30% health remaining, Phase Three begins. Liu becomesinvulnerable, and for the remainder of the encounter you will fight Yu'lon, theJade Serpent. Yu'lon will keep casting
Jade Fire, which creates damagingpatches of fire on the ground that need to be avoided. Other than that, shewill regularly melee the tank.
8. Sha of Doubt↑top
The fight against the Sha of Doubt is very straightforward. The mainmechanic to watch out for is Figments of Doubt. When the Sha casts thisability, it creates a copy of each player that needs to be defeated. The easiestway to deal with the copies is to round them up and DPS them down. They havean energy bar that fills rapidly. When the Energy bar is full, they explode, each dealing damage to players and healing the Sha for 10% of itshealth.
Other than that, the Sha of Doubt needs to be tanked and he will regularlydamage two random players with
Wither Will and afflict a randomplayer with
Touch of Nothingness, which causes them to dealproximity damage to other players. Healers can and should dispelTouch of Nothingness.
8.1. Achievement: Cleaning Up
To complete the
Cleaning Up achievement, you need to defeat the Shaof Doubt while under the effect of
Purified Water, a 5-minute buff givento you after killing Wise Mari in the Heroic version of the dungeon.
Simply start with the Lorewalker Stonestep encounter before engaging WiseMari. After defeating Wise Mari, the doors leading to Liu Flameheart inWise Mari's room will open and you will have 5 minutes to finish theinstance.
8.2. Achievement: Seeds of Doubt
To complete the
Seeds of Doubt achievement, you need to defeat theSha of Doubt while having 4 stacks of
Seed of Doubt, in Heroic difficulty.
You will find Seeds of Doubt around the area where you fight the Sha ofDoubt. When you click one, it gives you one stack of
Seed of Doubt, whichlasts 1 minute and increases Shadow damage taken by 25% (so by 100% at 4 stacks).
To succeed, you should wait until the end of the fight before stacking 4stacks of Seed of Doubt. When you do, you should be ready to use survivalabilities, if you have any, because all the damage done by the Sha of Doubt'sabilities deal Shadow Damage (which means that you will take increased damage).
Seed of Doubt also grants you an aura that deals Shadowdamage, but we do not currently know whether it deals damage to enemiesor party members.
